Math Game: Addition Race

Material:            Game board
Die or dice
Symbol cube or spinner (more, less, 1 more, 1 less, 2 more, 2 less)
Different coloured counter for each player

Players:              Two or three

Rules:                 The first player rolls the cubes to start a number sentence.  For example, if the player rolls “3” and “one more than” then the number of spaces to move must be “4”.  If the cubes read “5” and “less than”, then the number of spaces to move can be anything less than 5.  A player must have the exact number in order to finish. For example if a player needs a 2 to finish but rolls a “2” and “more than” then she misses a turn and play passes to the next player.
If you roll “more”, you can move up to 6 spaces more.

Note:
Say a number sentence with each roll of the cubes.  Example “One more than 3 is 4” or “2 is less than 5.”
